Immediate opening for a qualified part-time Fire Prevention Inspector to perform fire and life safety inspections and enforce the NJ Uniform Fire Code. Under the direction of the Fire Official, the successful candidate will conduct inspections, issue violations, review permits, maintain records and assist with public fire safety education programs. Hours must be between 7am and 4pm Monday through Friday.
New Jersey Fire Inspector Certification, valid driver’s license, and ability to successfully complete background investigation required. Experience in fire prevention, Life Hazard Use inspections, code enforcement, Fire Official Certification, firefighting or a related field preferred. Computer proficiency a must.
